Something About Everything About Something.

Last month, Parker and I went to San Francisco to attend the opening gallery of one of my favourite artists, Mark Warren Jacques, called "Something About Everything About Something." at White Walls. (I have a previous post here, explaining how I came to know about him.) I was so thrilled to be able to see his work in person and be able to meet him. You can just tell by talking to him that his work is a reflection of him. Other artists I have come across seem full of themselves and only more interested in the money and business that goes art. What was amazing about Mark was that he was really passionate about his work and payed attention to every single detail of his show. There are so many colours, shapes, and lines, that you have to stop and stare at the piece for awhile. Another thing that I love is how he titles his work. It truly tells the story of the work and it is easy to convey to everyone. He was also willing to talk to me and explain all his work to me. I would describe him as young, cool, friendly, and down to earth. In the future, I would like to own a piece from him.

You can see his work from the gallery here: White Walls.

One Thing.

(source: weheartit)

I can't seem to get enough of these boys. I am always looking forward to their music videos just to see what they're wearing. Great menswear inspiration no doubt.

shot me out of the sky.

PacSun sunglasses, Forever vest, Caslon top, Kirra maxi skirt, H&M boots, Target socks, and mixed O.P.I. nail polish.

I'm back! Sorry, it took me another half week to get myself together. There have been a lot of last minute things to do before school last week and friend emergencies. Anyway, I'm slowly trying to get myself back into the swing of things. I applied to Anthropologie intern but they turned me down because they already had enough, I'm really just glad they called me. No other company has bothered to do that. I'm possibly thinking about turning my application to other internships within that business which would be Urban Outfitters and Free People but we'll see.

So about this outfit, ever since I got one maxi skirt on sale at Urban, I've been obsessed with maxi skirts. I stayed away from them because I'm pretty sure that I was convinced by the media that my petite 5'2" frame couldn't pull it of, but I think these pictures say otherwise. Maxi skirts are super chic and comfortable. It's like one of those pieces that you could throw on when you're having a lazy day and still look amazing.

I had my darling beau take my pictures, and I think I should try to do this as much as possible. It's really nice to get someone else's point of view and not have to deal with self-timing and tripods.

That's all for now lovelies, I hope you have a great weekend.

011312.

Hello my darlings! I'm not dead yet. I had decided to take a 2 week break from my blog. I've been collecting and taking pictures, and really re-thinking my blog. I also had to re-think what I'm actually doing with my time now since I've graduated high school. Since graduating high school I've feel like I've lost my touch a bit within the fashion world. With school and being a nanny, I don't really get to dress the way that I like to and I don't get to wear blog-worthy outfits everyday, so outfit posts have become less and less. I feel that I'm not up-to-date as I'd like to since I've been busy and haven't touched most of my magazines since October. I also feel really depressed at times because I'm not doing what I'm really passionate about which is fashion as well as art. When I had my fashion column and fashion school, I felt really important because I was looked up to because I got to participate in something I did well in and those honestly, are the only things I had. Then I feel that without them, I'm just sinking lower and lower because I'm not learning, being inspired, or inspiring other people. And I feel stuck, which is something I'll have to live through until I have enough money for art school, which right now is not a lot.

But I have to get up and not dwell on it and try to go forward with what I want to do in my life and do the best that I can. So with that, here are my goals for this upcoming new year.

1. Get a new banner for my blog.
2. Invest in a new camera.
3. Officially visit Academy of Art University.
4. Visit Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.
5. Attend Teen Vogue Fashion University in October.
6. Apply for internship at Anthropologie.
7. Organize my blog.
8. Have a photoshoot with my fashion school friends.
9. Apply to Victoria's Secret. (if Anthro doesn't work out)
10. Go on many trips as possible including Disneyland.

Well, that's all I have to say for now. I'll probably be back Sunday to get my blog started back up. :)

Have a great weekend!

Love, Jenae.
