Crimson Red.

Finally, Senior Ball.

The dress: My mum and I searched all if the Bay Area for a dress in store but found nothing. So we resorted to online. We found this site the creates dresses based off celebrity dresses, and all you had to do was give them your custom measurements and they'll make it for you, in any colour you want. This was perfect for me since finding long dresses is so difficult for my 5'2" frame. For Senior Ball, I always imagined myself in something long, drapey, and romantic; inspired by Alexander McQueen's Fall 2008 RTW. I was also inspired to have my dress be made in red by the song "Crimson Red," by Holiday Parade. It's one of my favourite songs. So I ordered the dress, and it came about a month later, just in time, and it fit perfectly.

Crimson Red - Holiday Parade.

Bringing it together: I paired it with nude patent leather peep-toe slingback heels from Steve Madden (which you unfortunately cannot see), Givenchy earrings and necklace, and the clutch and ring are vintage. I also borrowed some gold OPI nail polish from my dear friends Emily and Amanda. My mum helped me with my hair and I had my friend Natalia as my makeup artist.

My date: I asked my best friend Josh a month before. If you didn't get the chance to see how I asked him, watch the video of our story here. After I gave him the book he had asked me what he should wear. I told him that I didn't want him to match because I think that's tacky; I wanted us to look like celebrities. I asked for black and white with a bow tie. Simple as that. He also asked me if I wanted a corsage. I told him no, because I saw no point in it. But on the day, he was so sweet he got one for me anyway. It was a rose which went with my outfit perfectly. I never showed him what my dress looked like, only the colour. But Josh was the perfect date, I was all smiles the entire night.

And queue a corny prom picture. The location of the ball was at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, so it was cool going around in the aquarium in a fancy dress. The night was a dream though.  I wouldn't of had it any other way.

In my life.

The title is inspired by our class song by The Beatles which sadly no one knew and no one sang. As any graduation, this one was long, hot, boring, and not that special so there's nothing much to say here. But when I  imagined myself graduating, I saw a white eyelette dress; symbolizing newness, freshness, summer, a next step in life. So I had bought a Max Studio dress and paired it with strappy brown cork wedges from Chinese Laundry (too bad I didn't get any outfit shots). I picked my mum's dress which is Calvin Klein and my sister's which is from BB Dakota. Here are also some pictures of my dear friends.

I was surprised that my Mum had gotten me a lei, if you noticed, I'm also wearing a medal I received at Senior Awards Night which was High Honors in Art and Ceramics. I was very happy when I got this award because I was so uncomfortable when I was sitting with the valedictorians and star athletes, knowing I didn't belong there. It made me feel important, and I was glad to know that my hard work was appreciated. Honestly, that was probably the best thing high school ever gave me. I'm really ever so glad to be done with high school so I could move on to be with people I actually want to be around and to things I actually want to do. Congratulations 2011.

Of age.

Here are the photos from my grad/birthday party taken by the wonderful Alex Drachnik. She's also the one who gave me this amazing dress. I am now 18 and graduated from high school! It's a great feeling.

More to come this week!

together with the sundown.

I really love the neighborhood which I live in, it's so photogenic. So one of my favorite things to do is have a bunch of friends over and take pictures of them with the summer heat and the golden light. I hope I have more days like this this summer. I also got a new camera, well a family camera. It's a Kodak, it's alright. I'm still getting used to it.

Preparing for a long weekend! I hope you have a good one too! :)

melting pot.

Sunglasses from Paola Loves to Shop, shirt from American Eagle, shorts from Express, vintage shoes, and bag from Target.

I'm back! I'm still in the process of collecting pictures, editing them, and putting them together for posts. June was a crazy month so I have many stories to tell.

In the meantime, let's talk about this outfit. I have totally been all over the colour palette trend! I love it, it has me being more adventurous with colours. In the summer I also love stacking on bracelettes since I'm always wearing short sleeves, lots of rings too!

That's all for now. Happy Summer Solstice! I hope you guys are having a great summer so far!

hiatus.

I was thinking about it but I should just announce it. I've been so busy this last week with school, and now my birthday is coming up on Monday and I have graduation on Wednesday and many parties to go to! But I'll take plenty of pictures and come back in about a week or so. I love you all very much and I hope you are doing well! Happy almost Summer my dears!

she wants to erase me.

Hello dears! I'm still waiting for my date's mother to send me the rest of the pictures from prom.

This is an outfit I wore awhile ago. This is my favorite shirt and you've probably seen me wear it dozens of times, and there are so many holes in it since it's made from vintage fabric and it's such a shame! I think a lot of my inspiration for this outfit came from J. Crew. They still are my #1 inspiration for everyday outfits.

Still hopelessly in love with coral lipstain, too bad I lost it! Need to go buy another one. I have the worst luck with losing them for some reason. Also, the weather has been horribly cold here for June. It's so strange.

Revlon lipstain: Constantly Coral, Urban Renewal shirt, Eco Lux vest, Bullhead jeans, Simply Vera by Vera Wang, and Franco Sarto heels.

Hope you all are having a good week! I've been so busy I can't believe school is ending in like 2 weeks! Graduating, my birthday on the 13th, parties, it's going to be insane. And since I no have +30 dresses in my closet I think I'm set for all the grad parties, hopefully it's warm by then!
