The Prom Dress.

This dress was quite a process, but I'll finally tell you it's story.

I first saw this Monique Lhuillier dress that was featured on Emma Watson in the August 2009 issue. Probably, my favourite issue of all time.

From right then I was completely in love and knew this would be my dress.

So then I looked up the dress online, and realized that it cost from $2500-$5000.
So of course I realized there's no way and decided to have the lovely Liz Drachnik recreate this dress for me.

So I sent her the picture of this dress but with my moderations.

So for Christmas, I had received a $50 gift certificate to JoAnn Fabrics. At the time I wasn't sure what I was going to use it for then I realized that I'm going to spend it on the materials for my dress. Luckily, I was able to get all the baric I needed for exactly $50! Amazing. So with time it turned into this.

And finally, am I wearing it! I am with the beautiful Alex Drachnik which is Liz's daughter who also made Alex's dress. Amazing, isn't she?

And here am I and my adorable date Justin Bieber. Well, Andre Buettner.

For finishing touches I wore it with a gold braided hairband, a vintage heart locket necklace, my grandma's beautiful jeweled bracelette and ring, gold ball earrings, and my favorite man for heels, Franco Sarto.

Honestly, prom was okay. It was fun sitting out in the cold with my wonderful friends talking about life looking out at the vineyard on the crisp night. But it wasn't worth the stress. There was alost of unncessary running around and drama. There were at least three times where I wanted to break down and cry that day. But the only reason I wanted to go to prom anyway was to wear a pretty dress, which I did. Everybody loved my dress and liked the fact that it was unique from everyone else. I loved the dress, I felt beautiful in it and also like a huge present at times from all the tulle on it. Now the dress is hanging in my closet, waiting for a day to be worn once again. And God knows when that will be. Now just imagine my dress for Senior Ball...

Thank you so much for reading! :) Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Love, Jenae.

Dreams Come True (feat. Karen Black) - Cass McCombs.

I love this song. Doesn't it sound like it should be in that scene of that teen movie when they are slow dancing? I can so imagine it it my mind.

Well, I hope you all are having a lovely Monday.

Prom dress post tomorrow? Yes? :D

santa cruz polariods.

Hi everyone! So here are the polariods I took at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk last week. Everyone always askes me about the "melted effect" on the film. I really don't know to be honest. The film is kind of expired so I guess it gives that "melted effect." So enjoy! :)

the news.

Hello everyone! I'm finally taking time out from my work to tell you what's up. So, on Easter I finally signed up for my pre-college high school art experience classes at Academy of Arts in San Francisco. I signed up for 3 classes which are each three hours long which are Fashion Illustration, Fashion Journalism, and Fashion Merchandising. Here is my schedule.

Monday: Fashion Journalism 12pm-2:50pm & Fashion Illustration 3:30pm-6:20pm
Tuesday: Fashion Merchandising 12pm-2:50pm
Thursday: Fashion Journalism 12pm-2:50pm & Fashion Illustration 3:30pm-6:20pm
Friday: Fashion Merchandising 12pm-2:50pm

So, I'm going to be there 4 days a week this summer from June 21 to Aug 11. And since I'm going to be spending so much time in the city my Mum suggested getting a job there so I'm thinking about applying to American Apparel. It's about a mile away from the school but only a few minutes but bus. I've talked to some girls who work there and I've looked at the application online and I think they'll be very accepting of a youngin' like me. :D

It's crazy. I'm going to be taking BART every single day, and San Francisco is going to become like my second home. I know it's going to be alot of work but also alot of fun. I mean, I'm going to school for something I actually like and care about. Going to school for something I actually take interest in? It's weird. So, I probably won't have a hard time keeping up with the work right? And the nice lady that I talked to said that i picked a good mix of classes and that the Fashion Merchandising class will be alot of fun because we take alot of field trips; going to the boutiques and meeting all the fashion buyers.

So this summer, my blog will also have entries of my life and experiences in the city. This is insane.

One thing that I'm kind of worried about is that I'll be so busy that I won't be able to see all the lovely people in my life as much as I want too. :( So please keep my schedule in mind and hopefully this won't eat up my whole summer.

Well, thank you so much for reading and I love you all so much. :)

Love, Jenae.

Life Magazine - Cold Cave.

A bit strange, but you have to admit it sounds so good.

I hope you all had a lovely break! I did. :)  Spring Break did get crazy and I didn't get to chance to blog as much as I wanted to so I'll try my best to make it up this week. I'll make a list.

Tuesday: I'll finally release my big news. I've already told a few but this is definitely life changing for me.
Wednesday: I owe some wednesday words so there will be two this week. :)
Thursday: I went to Santa Cruz last week and took some awesome polariod at the Boardwalk. So I'll scan those in.

So that's it for this week.

In response to Jen: I will have an outfit post on my prom dress! :) I've been meaning to do that. It definitely has to be done. I still need the pictures of me and my date Justin Bieber too. ;D

So thank you to everyone that has been reading my blog! Have a great evening.

Love Like Woe - The Ready Set

Music Monday is back! This music video just came out on Friday. I've got this song on repeat. I met the boy, Jordan, last summer at a show. He's so sweet and such a cutiepie. :)

That's all I got for now. I'm gonna have a pretty important post about what's going on my life that should be up tomorrow. Tomorrow I will also be visiting the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art tomorrow. So I'll have a post about that too.

Later. Have a lovely Monday!

Love, Jenae.
