2010.

Deena & Ozzy beret, vintage blazer, and Comme Des Garcons shirt.

2010 was a year of discoveries for me. For instance I:

1. Took a few steps into my fashion career by taking classes at the Academy of Art.
2. As cliche as it sounds, I figured out the people that I really want to be around.
3. I made some new friends.
4. I found Top of The World.
5. As the speaker from Macy's told me: It doesn't matter where you go, as long as you keep your creativity and never get bored with it and keep on creating, and don't let people stop you.
6. She also told me, that if you're not happy somewhere, just leave and find something else because it's not worth it.
7. The best movies are sometimes harder to find.
8. Working vintage retail, of course, is great. There is always new things to look at.
9. As Nick Santino said, "Let someone love you before it's too late."
10. Always be open to new things.
11. Take risks.
12. Expensive things don't always matter.
13. Sometimes people change and you'll just have to let them go.
14. Do what you think is right.
15. "Everything is second to your dreams." - Jordan.

I also finally watched Harry Potter. For some reason I missed out on it in my childhood.

I also wanted to say thank you to my fashion school friends. I am really glad that I met you guys. I thought I would go through the rest of high school being a fashion obsessed freak with no one to talk to about it. You guys have really creative and open minds. I love it. I hope to see you guys again soon.

I hope you all have a Happy New Year! I'll have my goals for 2011 post up tomorrow.

Love, Jenae.

wednesday words. #50

I decided to make the last wednesday words of this year. So I used ink to write the quote in one of my notebooks.

If you can't read it it says:

We will open the book. Its pages are blank.
We are going to put words on them ourselves.
The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.
-Edith Lovejoy Pierce

I think I will have a few more posts before the end of the year. I was contemplating on putting up a post about what I accomplished this year, and I have come to realize it's probably necessary. So I will.

Till then.

Love, Jenae.

Something fresh to look upon.

Awhile ago I took a trip to Ikea with my Mum. They had some new designs which I was really excited about. I hope to have my future home decked out in Ikea with a mix of a lot of vintage items from fleamarkets.

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and have been finding good sales. :) I have found a few things myself.

I hope you all are having a wonderful, cozy day spending time with people you love and eating great food. It's a blustery day in California.

I just thought I'd share the things I got, how I wrapped my friends presents, my sister's sculptures that she made this year, and what I'm wore on Christmas morning.

I wore a vintage flannel that I got from mars in Berkeley, a necklace from Targets, H&M sweats, and my old moccasins.
