Awhile ago I watched Whip It with Ellen Page and Drew Barrymore. It got me really interested in the whole roller derby thing. My friend Inakkhi was also. So we went to the local tournament. The Bay Area has a really good team of girls with cute outfits and sparkly gold helmets.
They also had a lot of really cool vendors during the tournament with roller derby gear, food, art, and sparkly cupcakes.
The crowd and fans were great; there is so much spirit and you really get into it. It's a really unique sport and something that I can actually see myself doing.
