Fall 2011: Part 2.

3.1 Phillip Lim
I love the whole sporty, clean look.

Proenza Schouler
Prints and colours are amazing. Especially with all the nice fabric. Wish I could own.

Rodarte
Lovely of course.

 Vera Wang
Loved the whole gothic feel. I now seriously need to get some black wedges. Had a huge crush on that red dress.

Fall 2011: Part 1.

I've been watching videos and looking through images from Fashion Week and have been picking four of my favourite looks from select collections that I particularly liked and putting them together into these images.

Band of Outsiders
Menswear was great, I loved the colours used and the styling.

Jason Wu
One of my favourite collections; I liked the lace used in a new way and the patterns are pretty and the clothes looks so well made. I would wear every piece in this collection for I feel it is mostly my style.

Monique Lhuillier
This is actually from her Pre-Fall collection. I have always been a fan of her dresses and I loved this collection. I wish I could have one of the two dresses on the right for my prom.

Oscar del la Renta
Always pretty, of course.

So, I shall have more to come. I hope you have a great weekend.

dream dress.

My dream dress from Foley & Corina if I got to prom. It's perfect because it's long but sheer so the dress won't swallow me whole with my petite frame. It's dreamy, elegant, and different which is what I usually am for. But sadly, it is out of my price range. So I'll have to find a better substitute. Anyone know of any?

It's been cold here in the Bay Area, there are saying snow tomorrow, but I am not getting my hopes up. But I have my new trench coat prepared for it.

I hope you are having a good Thursday.

Love, Jenae.

i'd sail the seven seas.

Vintage hat, sweater, coat, and belt, H&M tights, Franco Sarto tights, and necklace from Crossroads Trading Co.

I've had a busy weekend, and the weather has been looking better lately.

I've been looking at dresses lately and still wondering if I should go to my Senior Ball in May. Should I? It's so much money and if I have to go get a dress as special as that from a store that can't be made by Monique Lhuillier or Oscar del le Renta, I don't know what to do. And I keep getting catalouges in the mail from with really gross, cheap-looking prom dress companies.

Suggestions?

Bill Cunningham New York.

Last year, when I was first visiting the Academy of Art. I has sat down and talked to San Francisco famous Dino-Ray. Dino- Ray is the Editor-at-Large for AAU's 180 magazine. Dino-Ray is a very interesting figure. He goes against the grain in most everything and is unphased by Lady Gaga (my jaw had dropped when he had said that during a guest speaking for my summer Fashion Journalism program). He has a different view of fashion than the most of us. He is very underground and trying to pick up on something new. So I was extremely intimidated when I was talking to him and froze up and when he asked me my favourite magazine I squeaked out a "Teen Vogue," completely forgetting about all the other magazines I read.

Dino-Ray had suggested I look up Bill Cunningham. Bill Cunningham is an older man who wanders around the streets of New York taking pictures and creating soundslides with his opinion on what people are wearing. He just doesn't look for the celebrities but just people who dress uniquely.

I am really excited to see that there is now a film on him.

Well, I hope you all are having a good day. It's a rainy, blustery day in California.

valentine's day.

1. Vintage cardigan, Coldwater Creek scarf, Mystic dress, H&M shoes. 2. Comme des Garcons shirt. 3. Locket from boyfriend.

This is what I wore yesterday, I've been experimenting a lot with pattern mixing. And I think these platforms have become my favourite since it comfortably give me more height since I'm 5'2. I want more!

Well, I should have a Fall 2011 show post when New York Fashion Week is over.

Hope you all are having a lovely week.

first date.

About a month ago I had gone on my first date with my boyfriend. We took bart to the Mission District in San Francisco. It was the first time I've been to that part of San Francisco so he showed me some new places. Mission District is really cool with mural paintings and graffiti on almost every buildings. We went to Philz Coffee where they brew coffee by the cup. My coffee was really good. I remember while we were sitting there enjoying our coffee a hipster girl with an Alexander Wang bag was laughing at me. Probably because we were too overdressed. from there we walked to a park with a view. Then we went to Foreign Cinema where they were playing Harold & Maude and they serve dinner. We didn't get to watch it though.

It was really great and I'm glad that I have such a great boyfriend.

I hope you have a great Valentine's Day. Yep, even you single people.

like the wheel.

Sunglasses from Urban Outfitters, Urban Renewal shirt, David Page bow tie, vintage blazer, Old Navy shorts, sheers, Marc by Marc Jacobs watch, and vintage loafers.

Happy New York Fashion Week again!

I wore this today, it was inspired by the Carven look book which I shall feature later on my blog.

The tail, the tail, that is what you are wondering about right? Well, my boyfriend had bought it for me off a street vendor when we were visiting the Mission district in San Francisco for a mere $7. He thought it was disgusting even though it was faux but bought it for me anyway. I have looked for one for awhile being inspired by Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 where he had featured them on his handbags.

It has caused some controversy at my school. Some of my friends think it's the coolest thing ever while they pet it and wave it around. Others, for instance, think it's really atrocious and stare at it with a scorn on their face or squeal "Ewwww!" in disgust like the annoying preppy girl in one of my classes. And then I'll just have to say something like, "I do what I want."

One of the many reasons why I love and enjoy fashion.

Hope you all are having a great week!

Love, Jenae.

Dear lovely followers,

Sorry I haven't blogged in about two weeks. Finals absolutely killed me then my computer is not working for awhile and I've had to resort to my mum's ipad. I might have something up again by Friday.

Fashion school is coming up again this Saturday for me. It will be great to see some familiar faces and some new ones. I also won't have to take bart by myself this time around as my friends Alex and Tyler will be joining me as they take their film school. I have enrolled in Fashion Design and I am excited about it.

New York Fashion Week is next week! :) Who else is excited? Can't wait until they get the livestream schedule up. Who are you most looking foward to?

I have also seen that the new Elle Collections has come out in the UK. Too bad it will take forever to comeover to the US. I'm drooling over it.

Until then.

Love, Jenae.
